My Titan pressure washer has packed up. It turns on, but it has no pressure. Water still comes out when you press the button on the gun, but it's like an old man with an enlarged prostate peeing.

I mainly use it for cleaning my cars, and had a snow foam attachment for it. But occasionally clean the patio etc.

I had a look at Titan again but it seems to be basically the same and I wasn't overly impressed with it. The larger one looks like a copy of another brand but I can't remember which, and is about £140, which isn't to far off the named brand stuff!

I just want one that's consistent and lasts. Karcher doesn't seem to fit that bill from what I've seen over the years, unless I'm wrong so, I haven't looked at them.

A few of options:

AVA - they have a wide range of flow rate vs pressure. There's some good design choices in there too with follow me hose reels.

Nilfisk - they've kinda replaced Karcher as the mainstream brand of choice.

Direct Hoses - they're well known for their Grey 7 and 10 series, but have introduced more consumer focused units with prices that follow. I have the OR11 from them but they no longer sell it, but they have the B9v2 now. One criticism of DH is their customer service but I've heard this has dramatically improved in the last 12 to 18 months.

Whatever you go for, I would ensure you're getting a full metal pump. Karcher had some units that didn't have a full metal pump

I bought the Giraffe tools wall mounted one. I really like it. Powerful, super long hose - 100ft I can reach almost everywhere around the house!

Only downside is it's pretty noisy, but I suppose they all are...

I paid £240 I think, but it arrived the day before TW put a hosepipe ban in place last year, so I've not actually used it a great deal because of those cretins.

Nilfisk. Had one for over 10 years which I recently replaced as I wanted a bigger one. I sold the original to a mate and it's still going strong.

Same here, i have had the same Nilfisk machine ever since they started to show up in the UK market which was way over a decade ago.

Its the only pressure washer that has ever lasted for me, the ones before always failed.

I have a very long garden so a wall mounted one wouldn't be of any use. I also have a tap out the front of my house so I don't need it anyway.
There are now brushless motor ones which will be a lot quieter than a normal one.

It seems Nilfisk is the winner so far! Thanks all.

Another for Nilfisk, got a Poseidon 2 about 10 years ago, after a couple of Karchers which only lasted a few years, still going strong.

Another vote for Nilfisk.

I have a variable power one and can’t fault it.
As in you can adjust the pressure?

It seems Nilfisk is the way to go for sure then. Id never get a karcher, you only have to look on eBay or Facebook to see how many broken ones are for sale.

Yup.

Nilfisk Core 150 Power Control - has a 3 position dial on the front of the washer that allows you to vary the pump output pressure.

Definitely get one with adjustable pressure. It means you can be gentle or insane (with a 180 bar). My 180 can blow pebble dash off houses!
The Titan was blowing lacquer off a terrible paint job on the Escalade I bought to fix up, so I imagine that would take it back to metal! I'll definitely get an adjustable one!

In practise you don't need a powerful one for the home - you can knak thr clearcoat on the car(friends thought I was going for distreesed/patina look bonnet) , for paving slab,tiled-driveway chemicals can be less damaging , efficient & enduring
20 years with a K7 teaches you some lessons - they're heavy.

Which version of Nilfisk do you all have? They have a 10 year warranty if you buy them from their website between now and June I think it is.

I was looking at the Excellent 160, or the Core 150.

The Core 150 you can buy a car wash kit which has some extra accessories like an under car nozzle, but it makes it only about £20 less than the Excellent 160.

The connectors are different the Core uses something called 'Click and Clean' connectors and the Excellent is Bayonet.

Does anyone know if the Bayonet type is a universal type that I can buy accessories elsewhere?

They both seem to have a metal pump so I'm not sure which one to go for and am ruminating on it more than I should!

Are there any decent pressure washers for patio cleaning, that does it fairly quick with larger spray head?

I’ve got a Karcher K2 I think that’s good but it takes ages to clean my patio, makes a mess and most of it ends up on me.

I do have one of them Karcher circular attachments designed for patio cleaning but it doesn’t work as well as the nozzle attachment and leaves circular patches everywhere I’ve missed.
