Hi there

Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with HP printers?

The wife's looking for a HP printer which would be compatable with her HP Pavilion DV8000 notebook for her Uni work - we're using an old Lexmark X1180 atm which is prehistoric and the cost of Lexmark ink cartridges are extortionate !

We have been looking at the HP C4180 - but I thought I'd ask the good people here their opinions before purchasing - does anyone have any suggestions for a suitable replacement which encorporates printer, scanner please?

For reliability - HP

For best print quality - Canon

I wouldn't buy Epson again.
Agree with HP remark, don't know about Canon but I know Lexmark are quite poor/cheap and I find Epson are middle of the road.

Go HP

I have had a HP 895CXI, which is now officially the oldest component of my system. I bought it in 1998. Edit - it works for what I need it to, though when I do decide to print out my photo's which will probably be never...I might get a photo printer..

HP ink is more expensive than lexmark ...

I like my Canon i9950, single ink tanks ... no idea on all-in-one mf printers, I use a lexmark x5470 for that.

We've getting prices round the £20.00 + for the Lexmark printer and price checked the HP at around the £15.00 mark.

Thanks for all the replies people - I've bought the HP C4180 which should do the job nicely :D
