My computer runs fine and smoothly with a solid CPU temperature of 35 degrees without any video games running.

But, as soon as I enter a league of legends game my computer instantly shuts down. In the lobby or on the home screen of the game my computer is fine although there is a slight rise in temperature on the CPU. Also if the game is minimized it has no effect on the system, it is only once I open it does the computer shut down.

My specs are:
HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor
ASRock Z87M OC FORMULA Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard
Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic
Antec High Current Pro 750W Modular '80 Plus Gold' Power Supply
Avexir MPower Yellow Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C10 2400MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache

Any Help?

try latest 13.10 beta drivers for gpu

and set the control power slider in ccc/amd overdrive to 20% then test

enable x.mp for your memory if it supports xmp in the bios

Tha AMD overdrive program isn't working because I dont have an AMD processor and I didn't realise my GPU was AMD?

It's nothing to do with your CPU,its for the graphic card, look in catalyst control centre, then amd overdrive then set the power control slider to 20%,this will help with graphic card stability

oh sorry for being a pain ive found the ccc im currently downloading the driver beta then i'll look at the bios then give it a test

You need to check other things now, maybe enable xmp in BIOS for your memory

Could also be psu, I don't know

Is it just league of legends or is it any other game?

You could try running software called Prime95 to stress the CPU to see if it crashes. If it does, it could be a power or CPU or motherboard etc problem rather than the GPU.

I'm running the stress test now.

I have just lowered to graphics settings on league of legends to a minimum and it just about works now, but the actions in game are very slow to respond to my clicks.

While playing the game i am looking at the temperature of my components using speedfan and the max temp is 40 degrees.

Does this narrow it down anymore?

Still have this issue, although now sometimes it works fine with a GPU burn test for a while then others as soon as i run the test the computer shuts down.

I sent it to a repair shop and they sorted a few software issues and they came to the conclusion that it is cause by a faulty power supply. Apparently the cable for the GPU is faulty, but when i got home I found a replacement cable and it still has the same problem.

Any other ideas?
