Hey all.
As title suggests ...

Ooh nice! I like the fascia, nice and square. Is that a half door too? Good scope for cooling also.

And the biggest PSU iver ever seen! What are you plans? :)

The PSU is a huge and has the ultimate power of...300w! Its two psu that get turned into one in that huge metal box you see. It found its way straight into my wheelie bin. I like the fact that within 5 minutes of having the case the half door fell off and one of the feet snapped. Bad luck or its begging for modification?!

Nice case. What are you planning to do with it?

Please don't butcher the fascia - it would look awesome in black. :)

oo nice case, i want a big case, but i just can't 1 anywhere :( good luck with your project mat black would look lovely on that case :)

Satin black is indeed the plan for the exterior, possibility of electric blue for chassis, caddy and mobo tray. A third colour to pick out minute details maybe.
The front is hideous, I mean hideous and I have had door cases for so long now I fancy one without. More than likely fibreglass the front to give me a blank canvas.
Need two 120mm at front so some sort of grills required.
Side panel to be cut - sent away mind you.

Anyone tell me how easy it is to cut out the plastic for optical bay and screens? Obviously I want it to look pro and not some dodgy lumpy cut.
What tools do you use?
thanks

i just been thinking, that case would look mint if it was pure black, with a electric blue up the size of it like this.

but do it from the bottom going up to the top

Im definately open to suggestions, I think once I have the shape of it so to speak it will be easier to see what colour will suit it.

I did mine with a dremel. It was a slow process cause the plastic would heat up and melt back together a bit. Just a case of taking it slow and making sure you go all the way through.

Also, please for the love of all that is holy, wear goggles. I ended up at hospital with melted plastic in my eye a few weeks ago and for the sake of a few quid for some eye protection it really just isn't worth the pain.

Pencil some lines onto the plastic where you want to cut, then cut about 1/2cm inside those lines. That way you can file/sand down the edges to be nice and smooth :)

Definately invest in a dremel, can be had for under £30 - i'm so glad I got mine! I've used that and a drill the most on my chieftec mod.

As has been suggested the facia looks awesome, i'd leave that on though there's no harm in doing it up a bit.

Definately, when I cut out the front of my chieftec a blob of hot plastic hit me right near the eyeball! I still haven't bought any goggles yet though!

This is why the summer is great, everybody starts modding

Yee gawds things are odd sometimes, I happened to notice someone had posted whilst searching for a cheap dremel!
Which brings me to - under £30?? Where o where?

Also, if you plan on spraying the inside black, white or even grey - you can paint it with just a primer. I've been told that you can just use a colour coat but it's not at all durable.

The place I got mine don't seem to be doing it anymore, I got the dremel multipro starter kit. Though there is this one for £37: http://www.tooled-up.com/ManProduct...l-300-Series-Multi-Tool-+-25-Accessories-240v

Comes with 25 accesories.

You can get Dremel-esque tools (not actually by dremel) off the bay from £5 upwards. I got mine for £17 with a 250pc box of accessories. It's not as good as an actual dremel, like anything you get what you pay for, but i was strapped for cash and it certainly did the job.
