They've just popped up in the HP Product Bulletin update.

Finally the new Xeon L5630 / L5640 in the top-end DLs  Quad GB LAN as standard now (the DL360 loses it's PS/2 ports to make space).

Nothing too exciting otherwise though.

(Did I really just put "exciting" in a post about a server?!)

They must be very new - when I checked on a distributor this morning, they didn't have any listed as SKUs, never mind stock.

ohhhh crap if i had known it was that close i wouldn't have bought the G6 we're awaiting delivery of!

Just down the road from me! If any of you guys purchase one I'd be happy to go and collect it for you :D

Serious question: Do you think running a rackmount server at home (need the redundancy for a lab // mini hosting (my stuff nobody elses)) i.e a DL380 G4 running VMWare 24/7 with 2 x Apache web servers // LAMP - would increase my electricity bill by much? its not maxed and only one PSU (I have a spare but that adds £££).

What do you guys think?

I think its rated at about 400w or so according to the HP calculator...
