I am upgrading my uncles PC, he dosn't game or anything like that but he does watch blue rays on his PC.

Is the above spec look alright to you guys? He has got a Blue ray drive and he will be using the onboard Graphics from the CPU.

Cheers, Dan

Maybe get a smaller mATX case? There's no need for a midtower as your motherboard is also mATX. If he has silence in mind maybe you could invest in an aftermaket CPU cooler too (though be careful with size compatibilities if installing it in an mATX case).

There's no need for an aftermarket cooler or sound-proofing with that rig, imo. The stock cooler runs nice and quiet. I've been running i7-4770's with their stock coolers without issues, let alone an i3. And I'm anal about noise. If it's an overclocking chip then by all means. Just my opinion.

I'd change the RAM to one of these two (cheaper than that Geil right now and also better timings):

YOUR BASKET
1 x Avexir Core Red Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U16000904G-2CIR) £49.99
1 x Avexir MPower Yellow Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U16000904G-2CM) £49.99

Hi, I have had a look at the mATX cases but they all seem expensive, I don't really want to spend £50 on a basic case. Unless you know of one that is cheaper?

Hi, this is what I had chosen in the end.

Intel Core i5-4430 3.00GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail
ASRock H87M PRO4 Intel H87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard
Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gbs Basic - (MZ-7TE120BW)
Corsair CS450M 450W Semi-Modular 80+ GOLD Certified Power Supply
GeIL Black Dragon 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (GD38GB1600C11DC)
BitFenix Comrade Midi-Tower - Black
BitFenix Spectre PWM 120mm Fan - Black

I didn't go for the bigger SSD because he's only using, 40GB now :D
Should be a nice system running Win7.

I will upload some pictures once built.
Cheers, Dan
