Hello all,

I need an ISP who'll allow me to hammer downloads, a lot. I use Newsgroups fairly heavily and would like to have 2mb + unlimited (realy unlimited if possible).

Am currently with Griffin and they seem to have intro'd a 132BG per month fair usage policy and cost a fair bit for 2mb, which is now too small for me. Does anyone here use or know of an ISP that caters for heavier users?

NTL or AOL

Can't think of any other ISPs that'd cater for that sort of usage pattern at an affordable or sustainable rate.

At £20 a month, I wouldn't expect it to stay unlimited for long.

Zen do unlimited on their Office tiers...for £93 a month for up to 8Mbps.

NTL in my area is Superb.
I have never been questioned about downloads and have never had any restrictions set.
Been with them for years now and it is an Excellent service.

There is a long discussion about Primus on MSE and no complaints that I have seen. It is infact cheaper than I first thought. £17/month for 2meg.

bulldog is 8mbit completly unlimited although the speed you will get depends on location. i get about 4mbit and download over 200gig a month

give nildram a go mate...

this month i have downloaded about 300gb from them...

they have a fair use policy of 50gb a month BUT unlike other isps this only applies from 8am to midnight. so thats still plenty of scope to do a bit of downloading during the day each day, but just set your big downloads to go overnight and u are laughing.

i think in total in line rental, i pay about £35 a month. but then again, everything i download i leech at 750kb/s (8mbit maxadsl). so i think its worth it and its very very stable!

nono nildram is the best!!!! no limits from 12am - 8am!!!!!

downloading at potentially 800kb/s... think of how many gb's a month that is.!!! easily beats 330gb a month!

Do you work for them or something :p

Well thanks lads/lasses, will give Nildram/Arquis a go. Looks good, 8mb off peak will do more than 2mb 'on peak' by the looks of it.

and for less.
