it is 60 quid a year though. It is a good idea, i remember when they started doing that with the PS2 and PSP.
Wonder if you can leave it then sign up when your PS3 breaks

That's a very nice system, if only Microsoft had it. I don't think the PS3 will need it but who knows. I'll sign up soon anyway.

Why pay anything even when its out of warrenty you can still take it back to the shop under the sales of goods act.

I think the point hes trying to make is that the cost is comparable to that of online subs for the xbox 360, so if you were to pay the fee it wouldnt be much different from the yearly cost to use the competing console to its full potential.

That aside, after my warranty i would sign up, but my only worry is that my release PS2 still works fine... so would it be worth insuring my PS3, is it going to be as reliable?

[edit]Nice sig btw Chaos, however, sasuke? hes a bit ghey for my likings, surely Kakashi is far more sig worthy? ;)

indeed if M$ offered this, the company as a whole would probably start making a loss rather than just the xbox section :p

Streeteh has it right....:P should really label it a service then :D`

I am also thinking the same...this PS3 is meant to be quite good in terms of reliability which is why they may be offering this service! lol

But does that include two day turn around for a replacement ( new ) or the 7 - 14 days service that gets you a refurb ( ms ), anyway its a matter of choice and I think once my year is up I'll take up this service.

I myself have had 2(on my third), none returned in under 7 days, well i maybe lieing i might of had one back bang on days. Still seems a bit steep at a fiver a month though.

might aswell just get the extended warrantys that certain high street shops offer

or not bother at all an djust use your house insurance when things go wrong
