New ps3 game

Hi i got a PS3 for xmas, great machine but i hav only played it the guts of 10 times since christmas. I have assassins creed, pes08 and guitar hero. PES08 is good, but only one or two games at a time, gets boring after that. Assassins creed is good again but very repetative. And... i don't like guitar hero. So basically im looking for a good shooter, i know theres COD4, Rainbow six, Resistance FOM etc. I don't know which one to go for, i have COD4 on PC but i wudnt mind getting it on PS3 to have a go on a 42" tv lol. But it wudnt b worth it if the other two games are as good.

Which game would you get?

I would say R:FOM, it's SP isn't as good as COD4, but it is much longer and still worth a play through imo. Also its MP is among the best to be found on consoles.

Another one to look at, while a bit short, is Drakes Fortune: Uncharted, fantastic game and it does have some replay value due to an unlockable difficulty setting and the ability to completely mirror all the maps (tis like playing all new levels sometimes). Tis a 3rd person shooter.
 
Quite enjoying army of two currently, doubly good if you have a mate over with some beers.
 
i was looking at uncharted, is there online play? i would like a game with a good online aspect... Army of two didnt get good reviews... averaging 7ish...

I'm leaning towards resistance or COD4... atm but army of two is tempting, havnt played good co-op game in ages...

Is resistance FOM a team game? Or more of a solo shoot em up?

i think uncharted is just singleplayer ?

not played FOM but i think its both team and solo multiplayer as in team deathmatch .....

Army of two is good fun not a great game but still fun, COD4 is the best FPS game when taking both SP and MP aspects into account ive played for a long while. RFOM has split screen co-op only and an enjoyable and quite long for a FPS game, as others have said the MP part is great. Also it will help for when resistance 2 is out in November, as that looks like its going to be fantastic.

to the OP, get drakes fortune, its a shooter and puzzler all in one. and lasted me a few good hours. and there is some replay value like getting all the treasure. ive not played RFOM yet. so i can only reccomend it by what everyone else has said about it. if in doubt, get RFOM.
 
Drakes is great. Probably the best looking game on the PS3 and it does have an achievement system of its own to increase longevity.

If you want an FPS R:FoM is one of my favs. It starts off slowly for the first few levels but it really is a great game. Very long as well. CoD 4 if you like a more realistic shooter.
 
Thanks for the all the advice, was very tempted to get uncharted, but i tink im going for RFOM. I just thinks it will last longer with the mulitplayer and co-op aspects of the game...

Picked up RFOM after playing COD4 for a week, turned it off within 10mins. Don't think Im going to play it again, even to complete it. It's a very good game, but just doesn't cut the mustard like COD4. COD4 online is amazing, especially when fighting for capture points with bullets flying everywhere, rpgs whizzing past your head, and gunships being called in. WOW :)

I really recommend you get burnut paradise too, my fav game :D

Yea the reason im not getting call of duty is because i have it for the computer, otherwise it would COD no questions asked...
