New PS3 HDD

Hi all,

My friend has a PS3 with a tiny HDD and wants to upgrade.

Is it just a case of buying a laptop HDD and fitting it? any suggestions?

Or do we need to do anything with the drive before fitting it?

does it have any site restrictions on the HDD it would take? Or anything up to 1TB should be ok?

You can fit a 1tb hd no problems, google PS3 HD replace there are a lot of guides on the net. Just backup your stuff to an external hd then restore when the new hd is fitted.

You do need to make sure the drive isn't more than 9.5mm tall or it won't fit. This web site answers pretty much all questions.

The Seagate SSHDs are pretty good, I've got a 1TB one in mine and it works well and seems pretty quick.
