New PSP: spec me some games

to my knowledge, this is my first foray into the console gaming forum. Had to happen sooner or later, I guess. Hi, consolers.

So I got a PSP from the member's market recently. Honestly, it was a bit of an impulse buy - I really wanted to see what Crisis Core was like, and I had a shocking amount of disposable income left after what I envisaged was going to be a very lean January. Now that I've picked that up, and FFVII from the PS store, I feel I need to validate my purchase with a bigger library. My main genre of choice is RPG, but I'm pretty broad-spectrum when it comes to most types - just not racers or sports games. Any suggestions?

The 300 game was surprisingly good, I think it uses the same game engine as God of War (also very good)

Tekken games are good

Lumines (similar to tetris, but much better)

Lemmings

My mistake, I jumped to conclusions. What else would I want to modify for?

I actually just read the rules on discussing piracy related material. So I'll just say, check out what options are available. You'll soon find that the PSP is probably the most versatile portable gaming platform money can buy.

You'll find that there aren't that many great PSP games out there to play. But the PSP exclusives are just the tip of the iceberg - if you pardon the cliche.

Monster Hunter Freedom (or whatever the latest game is) kept my attention for a long time.

Street Fighter Alpha 3
Metal Gear Solid
Tekken
The sega compilation thing
China Town Wars

First few that sprung to mind.

Referred to it in my OP, it's the only game I've bought so far, apart from Wipeout & GTA that came with the PSP. How's Breath of Fire 3?

Ah my bad, in that case if you are into RPG's look out for Star Ocean 1 + 2, they are great games :D

Jcb33.

God of War, excellent game on the PSP. Final Fantasy VII from the PSN as well. I think that was all I played before I got rid of mine :p Those games were really good though.

Until they patch the PSP playstation emulator, I'm not actually sure if FF8 will work yet. There's a lot of points in the game which cause the game to freeze unless you switch between different popsloader versions.
From what I've read, the American version still experienced these issues.
