I am looking for a new PSU that would easily cover the following and allow me to add a couple more hard drives:

AMD Opteron 165 @ 2.7Ghz
ATI X1900XTX
4 x WD 7200RPM SATA HDDs
1 x DVDRW
1 x Audigy
2 x 120mm Case Fans
1 x CPU Fan

I was looking at this one:

Would 500W be enough, or do you think I need more power? Is this one good, or should I be looking at another make/model?

I currently have an Enermax 450W PSU, but it is 5 years old now and does not have the PCI-E and SATA power connectors.

That Enermax would be fine, another option would be the Corsair HX 520w for about the same price. :)

Which is better though?

I would have gone with Enermax because they have been making PSUs for years, and the current Enermax is the only thing remaining from my original build, but if the Corsair is better then it may be considered.

Quietness is also important, so if one is quieter than the other, then I would go for that one.

Probably much of a muchness, the Corsairs are made by Seasonic so they have effectively been making PSUs for years as well. I'm not sure which would be quieter though, maybe flipping a coin is the best way to decide. :)

You would be fine with anything at 430w and above.

Your choice of Enermax is fine. Anything above that would be overkill unless your thinking of upgrading in the next year or so.
