Just started building my new system and have come across a small issue I have :

OCZ StealthXStream 500w Silent Power Supply and Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P AMD 770 (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard.

Now the problem is that the mother board requires a 8 pin EPS12V connector but the PSU only has the standard ATX P4 connector. I have had a look around and yes I can get P4 to to 8 pin adaptors but is this acceptable?

The other option I have seen is Akasa PCI-E to ATX12V Cable Adapter (AK-CB051) but this would leave me without a 6 pin PCI-E connector for my HD4850.

What would be the best route to go? Convert the P4 to the 8 pin connector or convert the PCI-e 6 pin connector and then convert a 4 pin molex to PCI-e.

Cheers for any help.

[edit] I should have also said that I have a completely free 4 pin supply comming from the PSU with no load on it. [/edit]

I would get a cable like this, and you will be fine :)

cheers, wasn't sure if it was an acceptable solution but will get one ordered if its not going to cause any problems.
