Hi guys, ive just upgraded my computer and bought myself a second Evga GTX 480, so i will be using a SLI set up with x2 of these graphic cards.

I currently have a 850watt coolermaster but want to upgrade to a 1000+ watt, so that i am fully covered, for now and future purchases.

I'm an absolute idiot when it comes to PSU's but hoping someone can shed some advice.

Like i said i have a SLI set up so x2 8 pin connectors are required and x2 6 pin connectors to put into my graphics cards. I need these cables to be supplied with the PSU. Im guessing they do?

I've heard the ocz z series is awesome but can people shed some thoughts please? It will need to be modular if possible and SLI compatible.

Also i would like to buy an SSD drive, ideally it would be 120gb, and be used as my main drive as i only play two main games and of course for windows. I had my eye on the Corsair Force Series 3 120gb, Thoughts?

Kind Regards. Looking to purchase tonight if all goes well. My spec is below if needed, just add a extra graphics card.

Yes, any good PSU of that wattage will have the cables needed for this job.

You mean the ZX series? they are good, a PSU doesn't have to be "SLI certified" etc, it doesn't mean a PSU without this tag wont run the system (marketing gimmick;))

So heres a few PSU's to consider,

If you need fast write speeds then its good, but for say more of a gaming rig then a Crucial M4 has good read speeds equal to the corsair, but as you want to order tonight then its no good as its out of stock.

Awesome thanks for the sharpish reply!!!

Okay crucial M4 it is, lets hope its easy enough to set up :D

Also that 1000watt coolermaster PSU you linked, i notice it dosent have any 8 pin slots on the PSU itself, as mine does at the moment, Will this affect anything please?

Also my mind is set now between the coolermaster vs the ocz, which in your personal opinion Stulid would be the better purchase please?

Kind Regards

One last question. Does it matter what ATX psu it is? 2.2,2.3? Does that have any impact on its performance or size?

Kind regards, i believe mine is a ATX 2.3 at the moment.

2.3 is the latest revision, it basically means the specs of the PSU's are constantly tweaked to be more power efficient of have more suitable voltages/connectors. It has no effect on the physical size of the PSU.
