So I'm now at the poino where I'm ready to buy my new PSU but I'm still a touch unsure. Basically I've got it down to

I will probs go sli again at some point so the extra 200 watt may come in handy but is it me or do the seasonic units look to have much better quality parts to them? The specs list is huge for the seasonic with gold coated bits and what not yet the super flower one is pretty basic with its description. I've narrowed it down to these two so any help regarding this matter would be very much appreciated

4770k @4.6 , gtx 780 and a few hdd ' s but ill be going either Titan x or 980 sli...or maybe next amd cards crossfire. I'm getting the corsair 780t case in white so I thought white might be a nice touch. I looked at the EVGA one but again , the seasonic looks to have a much better specs list and quiet is important to me as I hate the buzz and whine my ax1200i kicks out

For that 850W is more than enough for SLI 780s or 980s, how about one of these?

YOUR BASKET
1 x SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 850W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - White £123.95
1 x EVGA SuperNova G2 850W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £104.99
Total : £238.54 (includes shipping : £8.00 Ex.VAT).

The G2 850W is better value and has a 10 year warranty and none of the LED connectors either. "Under the hood" the PSUs are the same, or if you really wanted 1000W (this really isn't required) the G2 1000W is excellent also

YOUR BASKET
1 x SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 1000W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - White £156.95
1 x SuperFlower Leadex Platinum 1000W Fully Modular "80 Plus Platinum" Power Supply - Black £149.99
1 x EVGA SuperNova G2 1000W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £134.99
Total : £451.52 (includes shipping : £8.00 Ex.VAT).

And as per above, the G2 1000W is better value for this wattage as well, however 850W is enough

Ok then well get the white PSU as it is visible in the case.

Dont underestimate the Superflower, hell of a PSU and I had a 1000W Platinum version and that will power your rig.

But the 1200Watt version isnt much more.

That's what I thought about it not being much more and better to have more than enough as I go through phases where I buy a few cards. It's the super flower I keep drifting towards its just all the nice specs SS have which makes me think they may be a more quiet option...good marketing I suppose!

Cheers Stu. Think ill get the Seasonic white snow version then. Tbh I'm a bit miffed that I have to buy a PSU only 2 years after buying the ax1200i for just shy of £300 at the time. I can be sat browsing or whatever and it will give off a short succession of maybe 2 second "Bzzt" noises. They aren't super loud but are noticeable and never happened when I first had it. Now I understand this may be over-reacting but to me that's a worry as it only started happening a year after I bought it

Yeah however I can't always bank on it happening so they may not be able to recreate it on their end. Ive heard the buzzing issues are quite common on that model, although different to mine. I'll have a think as I'm going to wait until the next weekly deals go up before pulling the trigger as I always end up buying stuff just before a reduction :D
