NEW psu = fail?

got a new psu in the post today and the fan grill is a stamped out web type of grill. it it catching on the fan badly.

simple question if i try to reshape the grill so it dont catch will it void my warranty

i only ask as i dont want to be without one for X days waiting for as replacement

theres usually a sticker on them saying if broken voids warranty, just dont break that
and if they ask did you bend this fan grill....lie

i'd return it. its not worth the hassle if the warranty is voided

Send it back it may be a pain but you should get what you paid for a psu in perfect working order

While that deduction makes some sense. XFX PSU's tend to be of reasonable quality. Unless the one he recieved was physically defective / damaged, which he didn't mention he thought it was, I find it hard to believe they would have such a design flaw.

Definitely RMA it, don't dream of touching it. It could be worth your while taking pictures of it for reference.

Op,just return the psu m8,it's a major part of your pc and you don't want any problems with it later on down the road.
