New PSU for 290 Tri-X?

Hi,

I'm looking at upgrading to the Tri-x card (non OC). Would I need to upgrade the PSU?

My other components are:

i5 2500k overclocked to around 4.
2 memory sticks of 4GB
1 hard drive, 1 SSD
A few fans.

My PSU is an Enermax Modu82+ 525W.

According to this, it can supply 480W to the 12v rails.

Well I'm using a 675w PSU with a Tri-X without issues. But Sapphire recommend at least 750w.

Personally I would look to change using a 525w

Yeah I would definatly change that as it will be cutting it very close and you may get shutdowns in intensive games/benchmarks.

Thanks for the replies. I thought the 525W might be a bit close, especially as it's a few years old.

I should be able to get my hands on the 625W version from my Brother. I think that should be more than enough for a single card.

Yeah 650W will be fine (as long as it's a decent branded PSU such as Corsair, Seasonic, Superflower, Antec).

It's an Enermax, same as the one I currently have.

Trying not to burn money, so i can afford a shiney new monitor to go with it!
