Hey dudes :)
Apologies for long post
Im looking to downgrade my current PSU which is a Superflower Leadex Platinum 1600W. Completely overkill for my current setup but i got it for a super deal from here, cheaper than lower wattage PSU's at the time. Anyway im after a PSU that's not going to be overkill but can handle the next gen stuff like Kaby Lake cpu and 2x 1080Ti's, full watercooling setup etc. Ive heard/seen around that EVGA have PSU's that are basically Superflower internals but with better support and longer warranty... if so which models are those? I ask this because i want to have custom cables made from CableMod, i would normally buy the OEM Superflower PSU but since they are fussy and don't support custom cables from cable mod im looking into other options instead.

Thanks for reading :)

EVGA Supernova G2 series

10 year warranty, 80+ GOLD rated and based on the Super Flower Leadex.

I've just got one based on recommendations from here. Seems like a solid PSU.

Hi and welcome to the forum. :)

Superflower build EVGA's Supernova G2 (gold rated), P2 (platinum rated)and T2 (titanium rated) ranges and they are based on their own Leadex Gold (G2), Leadex Platinum (P2) and Leadex Titanium (T2). The main differences are a different fan, no tacky leds and a longer warranty (UK service centre). The EVGA Supernova G2 550w and 650w have a 7 year warranty while the 750w and above have 10 years. All of the P2 and T2 models have a 10 year warranty. They also build the EVGA Supernova B2 range which seems to be based on a downrated Golden Green platform reduced to Bronze rating. These all have a 5 year warranty but I would avoid them.

Kabylake will use even less power than the already power efficient Skylake. Do we even know that there will be a 1080ti? Pascal so far has shown itself to be a extremely power efficient design. The pc in my siggy which uses a 1070 only came close to drawing 300w at the wall when the 1070 was heavily overclocked and being benchmarked. From what I have read in reviews a good quality 750w psu is more than enough for a overclocked GTX1080 SLI setup and leaves plenty of spare headroom. Without knowing any power draw details of unreleased products it's difficult to suggest a psu capacity but I would guess that a 850w unit would be enough for what you want to achieve. It's probably wiser to wait for the components to be released though.

Thanks guys

I had a feeling it would be the G2,P2 and T2 as i seen a few PSU reviews on Jonny Guru and the internals looked the same.

I have a simliar Mobo/Cpu as you Pastymuncher, 4770k 4.6 at 1.32 volts on a Maximus VII Hero. I should not really need to upgrade those as ive seen people still running Sandybridge 2500k Cpu's and their not having any issues with the latest games. As for the 1080Ti i thought there was going to be one but it's looking more like Nvidia wont.... At the moment ive got the 780Ti and im doing my best to hold off purchasing the 2 1080's now thinking there will be a 1080Ti....but i don't know...would it be better getting the 2 1080's now or waiting that bit longer...i don't want to have buyers remorse hahaha
I should mention im using a Asus ROG PG279Q 2560x1440 144Hz monitor.

I won't be changing the cpu/mobo/ram anytime soon either as it's still a very good combination. I went from a EVGA GTX780 FTW which was almost 780ti performance to my current 1070 and it was a huge performance boost while knocking 150w off peak power consumption. I got the 1070 because my next upgrade will be a 27" 2560x1440 144hz monitor, probably the Dell S2716DG.
