New PSU needed? Suggest one?

Can anyone verify if I've diagnosed this correctly?

I've just installed my new CPU and cooler, and I also installed a third HDD at the same time. On attempting to boot up, my case lights turned on , couple of fans span up rather pathetically, then the power went back off. Tried again, same result.

Unplugged the HDD's power cable (via Molex-SATA converter lead) and tried again - success!!

So - am I right in thinking my Akasa Paxpower 460 is incapable of powering the new HDD as well as everything else, or do I potentially have a borked HDD?

System consists of:
Abit AX8 mobo
Antec P160 case (so a few LEDs on the front)
2x 120mm case fans
Sunbeam Rheostat fan controller
2x SATA HDDs (as per sig)
Liteon DVDRW
1x Sony floppy drive
Gigabyte GeForce 6600GT
PCI Wireless LAN card
A64 3700 (San Diego)
Arctic Freezer Pro 64

Any suggestions/advice greatly appreciated. I suspect either my PSU isn't very good, or just not powerful enough.

460W should easily be enough. Try keeping the new HD plugged in but unplug the other ones and boot.
Will try that tonight. I hope it isn't the hard disk, as I've had it a good couple of months already and not been able to use it until yesterday. It could take me a long time to find the invoice etc (moved house recently).

Oh dear. I have a dead hard drive. I reattached it (without removing the others, and the machine posted - but the new HDD wasn't detected. So I tried removing one of the others - no change. Tried swapping the power lead and used a known working data lead to a different SATA port on the mobo - still not detected.

Guess i'd better RMA it then... at least the PC works for the time being!!
