Just bought another 6950 to flash and run alongside my current flashed one in crossfire and as such I need a new PSU.
I need it ASAP and the budget is around £100.

Requirements:
As quiet as possible.
Modular.
Reliable.
Around 1kW.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

My Current PSU is an 800W Tagan Dual Engine PSU.

Full Spec is:

MSI P67A-GD65
Intel Core i5 2500k (@ 4.8GHz, 1.4V)
XFX HD 6950>6970 (@950MHz, 1450, 1.175V)
MSI HD 6950 (Hoping to flash and run at similar clocks)
GSkill RipjawsX 4GB C7
Intel 320 SSD 40GB
Samsung PB22-J SSD 64GB
2 x WD Caviar Green 1TB, 500GB
Seagate Barracuda 500GB
Pioneer BD-ROM
NZXT Phantom Fan Controller (In-Case)
2 x 200mm NZXT Fans (1 LED)
3 x 120mm NZXT Fans
2 x Akasa Vipers
Alphacool Laing D5 Vario
2 x Cold Cathodes

I would like the option to add more RAM and a dedicated sound card in future.

If I think of anything else I'll let you know ;)

Your current PSU should be able to handle your system fine, Andantech report that 2 6970 in crossfire pulls 601w with Furmark and 560w when gaming. This includes the system as well which they usually use a slightly overclocked i7.

My rig in my sig pulls 500w full load from the mains which is also water-cooled.

Sorry forgot to specify, the problem with my current PSU isn't the capacity. It's a damn good PSU but unfortunately only has 2 6-pin PCI-E power connections whereas I'm obviously going to need 4.
Good to know about that AnandTech report, I was using Antec's Wattage calculator which was giving me a figure of low 800s max total draw - I guess they err on the side of caution!

XFX 850W, OCZ ZX 850W, Coolermaster Silent Pro 850W.
Thanks, I will look into these 3 further and decide on which to take.

I've finally made my decision and have settled on the CoolerMaster.

The OCZ was a tad too steep price wise and XFXs bad rep with support has put me off going with them. A mate of mine has the Silent Pro Gold so I know it's going to be quiet which is good, I also liked that the CM PSU seems a bit more flexible than the XFX with the cables provided (a few more options offered) which might come in handy in future.

Sad to say I didn't put the order in at OCUK but a couple of comeptitors have this in at almost £20 cheaper! I was going to order the 1kW earlier but was too slow and by the time I'd gone to checkout it was back at full price. :(

The Coolermaster is a bit of a budget model, and although it can deliver the stated wattage, I'd recommend the Corsair HX 850W over it, as it's a far better unit, with a considerably better track record for reliability.
