New PSU needed?

Looking to add a R9 290 Tri-X from Sapphire but not sure if will need to upgrade the PUS.

Currently have a corsair modular 520W one.

In the PC is 3770K not clocked, 16Gb RAM, 1 x SSD, 1 x 2Tb mechanical, Corsair h75

So will the 520 be ok or best to go to a 650 or a 720 watt one?

720 to be on the safe side.

You should be ok running that with a 520W, as long as you don't overclock too much.

Have a look at this link which gives a total power consumption figure for a 290 and i7 4960X system.

You will be ok, I have a 7970 Asus with a overclocked i7 and at full load I get around 330w if I remember.

520w is absolutely fine.
as per lee32uk's post, look at page 5 of the review, the max power draw is 500w *at the wall* so the power being supplied is approx 420-450w.

tl;dr your psu is fine, save some cash.
