NEW PSU Recommendations

Hi.

I have just ordered one of these

and realised after the event I only have a 450W rated PSU...

Could anyone recommend a PSU that would be suitable for this card please (says it needs 650W on the store page)?

Go for a 850w that way your set for a while.

For the same price as that Superflower you could have a Seasonic GC-650w with a 7 year warranty but personally I would spend the extra for a fully modular psu such as the Phanteks Amp 650w at a tenner extra.

I'd agree to go for the best you can as PSUs as you say, last a good while. Don't go for 650w if you can afford 850w. Nice to give the PC a bit of head room. I think my last PSU was just over 10 years old before it started going iffy. People shouldn't limit themselves to the bare minimum if possible (obviously everyones circumstances are different). That is why I went with my PSU choice. 3 years in so far and all smooth sailing and it is just one of those things that I now don't need to think about when changing components 5-6 years down the line.

The Phanteks has a 10 year warranty and is an improvement in build quality too, compared to the GC-650.

Get yourself 850W now, as they way things are headed you're gonna need it at some point. 12 year warranty.

Have to agree with the others. 850 watt psu gives you legs for an upgrade down the line.

I got a 650 watt psu thinking that that would be enough, and it was for the 3060 ti I got, but then I managed to snag an upgrade to a 3080 and I had to get a new PSU.
