Two in question are EVGA supernova G3 850 gold and Seasonic Prime GX 850 gold.

After just getting a BeQuiet 850 that i suspect is faulty im after one of these two to test system stability, it'll be powering a 6800XT and 2700X. Anyone have experience of either?

Cheers :)

Get the Seasonic. I read somewhere that certain EVGA PSU's (G3 & GA) have issues with modern Graphics cards.

I ordered the seasonic (1000w) from a competitor a while back. I noticed lots of components were not arriving on said day. When it came to the day it just said 'was due on..' after I waited another week I contacted their support, then I contacted seasonic direct. Seasonic told me there would be some delays and when I pressed is it gonna be days or weeks they responded with likely weeks.

As this unfolded I spotted one of their OEM came into stock albeit a 850w. I got the phanteks and it was received two days after placing the late night order - very impressed. Its basically a rebadged Prime with almost identical cables/kit/accessories in box (which I already researched on, these and ROG are made by seasonic). Now im not sure if these will get into stock in regular retailers just yet, but there is your alternative tactic.

* ed just checked yes they are still overdue so I would still be waiting for that now if I had not cancelled and got the phanteks.

Had the Seasonic a few days now and still had a hard lock so looks like either the 6800 is wonky or maybe something else is showing weakness. Unless an 850w isnt really optimal for a 6800xt? im reading that the card can randomly try to draw power spikes of 1000w!? :O

I doubt the 6800XT needs more than 850w. Maybe your BeQuiet was ok and something else in the system is at fault?

Yeah im starting to think the BeQuiet wasnt the problem at all, might be time to upgrade mobo/cpu/ram as well, had them for a few years so it will scratch the upgrade itch and maybe solve the problem. Id really hate it to be the 6800xt as it means rma and god knows when id get another one with the shortages rampant!
