Hi to all in here...

Looking for a new PSU to accompany my current Hiper Power 580Watt. I'm using the Hiper to power the Motherboard/CPU/RAM and my Crossfired X1900GT's.

My Case fans are currently being powered through the motherboard as well.

However, I have a bog standard 350watt PSU with two noisy 80mm fans in it, and I'm using this to power my Three hard drives, floppy drive and two optical drive. I want a replacement for this PSU thats:

A) QUIET! Something that will match the noise level of my Hiper or even less.
B) Low Cost - Its only power drives, nothing power hungry, so something in the 300Watt+ range would be ok (I think).
c) Branded, if possible - If anyone suggests a Q-Tec I'll shoot them....

Thanks for the input!

Well if you want quiet then Seasonic will be your choice. However, OcUK only sell the 430watt version and upwards afaik, and they're not cheap.

I think someone on here mentioned that the Corsair PSUs have been cited as quieter than Seasonics  Again, pricey tho.

If it's 'only' to power fans and drives, does it really matter if it's a cheapy thing like a Q-tec? If this does matter to you then I guess you're gonna have to face the facts that it's gonna cost you tbh.

I've seen some NorthQ PSU's that may do the job ... but never seen anyone recommend them ... possibly for a good reason ???

From what we know of your specs, I reckon you'd need around 700W worse case scenario. As others have said, perhaps it would be better to simply sell your current PSU and get a single beast. Seasonic PSUs are simply awesome, and the 700W M12 on OcUK, whilst expensive should sort the job nicely (it's modular too)! No doubt you know of their reputation for being quiet too.

Once more, Corsair HX520 :) it's the quietest performance PSU silentpcreview have tested yet!
