Hhhmmm...

Really P*$$ed off.

Just puchased a new Coolermaster 850w PSU was suppose to arrive yesterday but arrived this afternoon (Oh well it is nearly Xmas;))

Go to fit into my Lian Li V1000 case and it wont fit.

Now my dilema:

Do I go for a new case (but I really like the v1000)
or
Find a 850w PSU that will fit.

Can anyone tell me an alternative case where the PSU will fit. I need space for 5 Hdd's, 2 x DVDRW drives and a memory card reader.

Gotta be honest this is the only fault with the Lian Li case having an upside down configuration.

Its not the fact its an upside down layout that means the harddrive doesn't fit :p
Its just the overall layout, not that part in particular ;)

More to the point though, why do you need a 850W psu?
Presuming its the spec in your sig here you'd be fine with a decent 500W

I chose to remove the rear most HDD tray in my PC-101B (identical layout to your v1000) which allowed for the large tagan PSU.

You could add this EX23 bay to hold the remaining 2 HDD's. It will still leave space for your 2x DVDRW's and card reader. :)

I used a psu calc on site somewhere when I added my spec it suggested a PSU of approx 675w so I thought go slightly more for updates in the future. 2nd graphics card etc.

Thanks gt_junkie that looks like a plan.;)

I have the V1000 too.

I would be distching the 3x300 Maxtors to get a 1TB drive before i ditched the lovely case or the massive PSU. Leaving me with 3 drives.

The EX 23B is a great option though - and the cheapest.

I have the 3 disk EX 33B and it makes the case look even better as well as adding 3 more cooled HDD slots.

I have 2 of the 3 maxtor's in RAID 1 setup for my photos, videos and essential data with the 3rd maxtor as a spare (used for general storage with stuff I can afford to lose if I need the drive. Maybe overkill but I have had bad experiences with loosing all my family photos a few years ago:eek: and it isn't going to happen again.
