Hi, looking for a very quiet PSU which it would be nice if it were modular or not have too many cables.

Have heard lots of good things about the Seasonic 430W but it possibly has a lot of cables? Other one was the Enermax Liberty 400W but am not sure how quiet this one is.

Will be going inot a Lian Li v-300 so space is an issue and will be trying to make the system as near to silent as possible (5v or 7v fans all over).

Any help much appreciated
 
The Seasonic is good, best there is for silence. Unfortunately the modular version won't be out for a while, so you have to decide which is more important, modular or silence. I would say silence, as you only have to wire it up once, but you always have to listen to it.

Other manufacturers to consider: Antec, FSP, Tagan, Enermax.

There arent that many cables on the aseasonic and they are fairly easy to keep tidy with the supplied kit.

heres my lanboy with a 430w seasonic in it, completely silent too
 
Very nice. It would be fine in a midi tower as you can hide everything in the spare optical bays. Might be able to thread the cables up through the bottom of the bay. We'll soon see as it will be having my Tagan 580W in for a bit which will be interesting :p
 
I always take both sides of my case off, which means I can tuck all 'unused' cables behind the motherboard tray, where nobody can see them.
 
The two modular PSU's I've had experience with are the Hyper Type R 580W and Antec NeoHE 550W and I'd recommend both.

Good idea... not sure why I never thought of that. :(

Nice photos Raikiri. Mines a 600W Seasonic and the cables are a right mess in my system. The supplied kit wasn't enough to keep everything tidy, it's not helped when I've got 3 hard drives and 1 optical drive in there. The drive cage is pretty full to hide cables in it. :(
 
Well after putting together my V300 i have found my PSU (Tagan 580W) wont fit as it's 175mm long! :mad:

Can any tell me the length of the seasonic 430W to the edge and then inc cables.

Gah. Please let me know asap as i need to order so i can get rid of having an external PSU!
