I have a Hiper 580watt modualr one at the moment but after reading some threads here about them I dont want risk it with my 8800gtx, what power supply would you reccomend? I was thinking an enermax one but there quite expensive, they any good/worth the price? Thanks.

Hmmm i have a Seasonic S12 600watt and i was seriously considering getting an 8800 (not sure of gts or gtx as yet) but i was under the impression it should be ok. Spec as per sig with 2 hdds, an optical drive and watercooling, anyone think i will need to upgrade the psu? Don't really want to go replace the psu unless its absolutely necessary.

I'm running a Corsair 620, its a beaut. driving 7950 GX2 atm and no complaints. I'd strongly recommend it.

got one too, no complaints
last one was a hiper580r-13months, screeched like a banshee then 'boom'

Tagan psu's are very good, had a coupleof the "small" ones, 480w and 700 / 800 might not be enough for sli-ing 2 8800's but then unless running REALLY high res i can't see why you would need 2. Only reason i am upgrading my 1900xtx is that it is showing signs of struggling in need for speed carbon, ie 40fps @ 1280x1024 with all the eye candy on

Ah right thinking ahead, like the style  yeah think im going to give it a go with my 600watt Seasonic then only ypgrade IF it cant cope and the rails start drooping or i get instability on the gfx front. Then a large Tagan might well be on the cards.

i just RMA'd the hiper 580w i bought the other day. Got it set it up and no power at all to the board :(

It also smells like its been welded, which is not good :(

I did that power supply calculator it said 516 so I should be alright with my current psu but im not sure I want to risk it or not, Im really not sure what brand to get  .
