hi again,
from my previous thread i was told that there was no point of upgrading my lga775 pre-built pc and that i would be better off saving the money but i have another queery.
If I bought a new am3 motheboard,phenom x2 and 2 or 4gb of ddr3 ram,
would i need to buy a new power supply?
i was thinking of reusing my old psu until i get a better one
the one in my prebuilt pc is a 250w FSP power supply,is this enough?
thanks again

Defiantly not, that 250w Generic PSU will kill all those lovely new components, don't risk it buy a proper PSU..

Something like: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-008-CS&groupid=701

What graphic card are you going to be using? Or want to be in the future..

You might be able to get away with using a: CX 400w if its a minimalist build: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-017-CS&groupid=701

Still I think its worth spending that bit more so in the future you don't have to pay twice..

would CX400 be enough, and i am going to use the old case too which doesnt have much ventilation but i dont think i will overclock untill i get more money to buy a cpu cooler and a better case

i just double checked and if i choose to run a 5770 in the future i would need 415w with minimum of 365w

No the 400 corsair will still be able to run a 5770 (not sure if they just list higher requirements to be super safe or incase people are using aweful psus) especially with the rest of the system specs. Just dont go nuts on fans and flashy mods.

Also using the calculator a couple posts ago I input your system with the 5770 (basic other settings i.e. 2 Hdd, 1 pci card and a few extra 120mm fans) and the reccomended wattage was 281 so you are fine.
