Hi there guys i have been strongly advised by forum members not to use my WinPowr +plus 750w PSU with my new gtx 480. I am in need for a new psu and could anyone make any reccommendations? im looking to spend aroung £60 and only want to be able to run my gtx 480. thanks :)

The CX600V2 only has 480w on the 12v rail. Depending on the rest of your spec you could end up pushing that psu close to it's limits. I have seen a power draw of 400w (at the wall) with my rig. The XFX may only be 550w but it can deliver 528w on the 12v rail. Personally i would be looking at 750w or at least a decent 650w psu.

That's a copy and paste fail, it's rated at 34 A 408 W.

The 550 W version goes to 44 A 528W on +12 V at £58.99 would be the better option, the 450 W would be cutting it a bit close.

My specs are as follows:
Coolermaster elite 430
M4N98TD EVO motherboard
AMD 965 BE cpu
2GB Geil Ram
500gb hdd
Samsung dvd burner
Winpower +plus 750w psu
8800GTX but obviously i want to put my GTX 480 in :(

Listen to the advice you have already been given. Don't go from piece of crap to another. The Antec that Fowler002 suggested is a cracking psu and is also modular.

Do not skimp on the psu. It is the wrong place to save money.
