Afternoon fellow OcUKers. I'm after some product advice.
My current PSU is a GigaByte GreenMax 650W and I'm suffering from horrendous coil whine in certain games. Fifa12 loading screen is bad and spinning round in Portal 2 changes the pitch and amplitude, at times it's stupidly loud. It's as though when the GC is in certain conditions it results in the coil whine. It is the PSU and not the GC as I've tried a friends 580 and the result is the same.
It only started occuring when I got my 580, having previously had a 6850. I'm assuming this is a result of the extra juice the 580 sucks.
So I'm in the market for a new PSU unless anyone can suggest a solution. RMA is not really an option as the PSU was a gift from a friend who had won it in a PC Gamer competion, but no longer has the details from the comp.
Must be fully modular and I'm looking at a max budget of £125. Anything less than would be ideal so it can go towards a new storage drive.
Spec can be seen in sig.
