Looking for the best way to go here.
till last week had a XSPC Acrylic Tank Reservoir with a Laing DDC .
pump gave up, so purchased new one.
went for OcUK Tech Lab - 18w DDC Pump & Alphacool Acetal Top Value Combo

not paying attention didn't notice that this would not fit the acrylic tank.
so removed the top, fitted pump & all going great.

so advice looking for , would i be better off with top back on the pump & purchase something like EK Multioption Reservoir X2 250 Basic

any advice always greatfull

IMO tube reservoirs have better looks than pump top reservoirs, so if I had space to put a tube res, I would.
Performance vise I have seen pump top res's having slight advantage over tube res's. But as long as there is no long-bendy tubing between the tube res and the pump you will be fine :)

Yeah, ive just bought the Koolance COV-RP450 for my new WC setup, to go ontop of my D5, you then bolt the tube res to the pump top and mount.....looks awesome :)

think will got with tube res then, plenty space in case, can hide pump as well.
cheers guys ;)
