I'm looking for a PVR that is functional and easy to use, and won't cost a packet. I'll be the first to admit that i don't know squat on the subject so any help would be appreciated.

From reading previous posts i've found the following:
HUMAX PVR-9200T
Digifusion FVRT100

i'm looking to spend £100 or less. comments or sugestions would be welcomed

I went through three Digifusion pvrs and then gave up and went for a Topfield.
The Toppy is selling for over £200 so is way above your budget but unless Digifusion have improved their quiality control I would give them a miss.

Well, count one vote for Humax - the 9200T is rather more than £200 still, but I can happily recommend the PVR-8000T. It's not the ultimate PVR, only one tuner and the chasing playback feature has a rather silly flaw (playback always stops when recording stops), and the inability to watch recordings while recording something else is disappointing, because there's no real reason why it should be so.

Nonetheless, even given these flaws, it's a really likeable unit. It feels like a good quality peice of kit for starters, it copes well with a moderate to poor signal, but most of all it is solid, reliable, and gets the job done. That's something that Digifusion, Topfield and even Panasonic PVRs can't really say.

I think it's good value too. It'd be worth nearly £100 for a Freeview box of this quality, the recording options are almost just a bonus.
