New Quad core and cooling

Bought a Q6600 retail last week, to go with a MATX build i was doing for myself

the problem is core temp is telling the the core temperatures are

55

46
45

thats with the stock cooler, at stock speeds, and idling, not what i was expecting so im in need of is a cooler thats a maximum of the stock HSF + 2cm more room

so say 100mm height max

no budget really, just not silly money

ive been looking at the Zalman CNPS8700, will that sort it out ? plus its only 67mm in height

Those stock coolers really bite.

How about the Arctic Freezer 7? Very affordable and think it ties in with your requirements.

just got the tape measure out and measured it exactly

got to be a max of 75mm :/

after a little bit of a load, loading my itunes playlist it bumps upto 70degrees on core 1 and 2, 3 and 4 to 60

thats after adding 190 songs to the playlist, god help it after a good gaming session

Oh heck, they really get that warm on stock clock, stock HSF?
Yah the AF7 won't fit then. Any reason why you've chosen MATX?

i already have a shuttle, so wanted to keep within the theme, plus i sit in front of the tv

if you get what i mean, im currently considering one of the zalmans as they are all under 70mm, the flat flowered ones that is, any i should definatly consider ?

just want to cool this bad boy down, wont be doing any overclocking

No expert with the zalman - I know they're flatter but arent they wider? Will it fit length and width opposed to just height?

Still enough room to get your 4pin 12v connection in?
12cm across (so say 6cm radius of CPU socket).
Might be wrong but looking at that photo - looks tight?
