New Quad Core G0 Variants

That's right...i know of 1 online shop thats states they got them in stock but when i emailed them they told me they have now sold out and only got the 105w in stock....which is obviously bull!.

I'd like to see a list of the batch codes posted with corresponding overclocking results and I'm sure that will happen when the Q6600's land. A guy in the states has posted
his Q6600 G0 retail at 4GHz, 3.76GHz Prime stable on air cooling. The batch code was FPO - BATCH # L723A765 but we will probably get different batches here.

Why is everyone in such a rush? Wait a few weeks and G0's will be commonplace. I'll get one, but won't be paying extra (ripped off) for one.

g0 will be standard when all b3 is sold, on sites where b3 and g0 arent split itll be b3 for abit after g0 is shipped to the uk...the only g0 q6600's in the uk are imported from us/canada so i doubt any uk site has g0 already, if you badly want g0 over b3 just pre order one and wait... or if you want one extremely badly get the qx6850 :p

Apparantly the A batches are clocking way better than the B batches.
apparently the A batches are what europe, which im assuming includes the UK gets :) every g0 q6600 cpu-z shot i found to check in a couple seconds of looking around is B.

People have been waiting for Q6600 G0's since Intel announced the price drop, it's understandable that they're anxious to complete their builds, call it human nature!

cpu-z doesn't show what batch the cpu is, it shows only the stepping which are all B.

The batch No will be on the box and H/S i.e L726A951

I missed that ETA on the site as well, hopefully some results of overclocking these chips from people on the forum will come out fast so I can decide if I want one or not!

IM going to laugh soooooo much at the E6850s saying ooo 4ghz is better then 3.6 on air but with 4 cores (even though the difference from 3.6 to 4 is minimal in games and the addition of 2 cores makes playing multithreaded games a lot smoother on a quad. And all this malarky about ooo we wont see quad enabled games for years. Pffft yeah why wouldthe gaminng industry not take advantage of more power!). But your saying someone got 4ghz with the q6600 go? so thats as fast as the E6850 and extra 2 cores? LOOOOLLL

yup, he hit 4GHz for the hell of it although his final Q6600 (G0) overclock Prime Stable was 3.80 GHz at quite low voltages. Also if you read through that whole thread you will learn how to calculate the correct temps from all the various temp monitoring programs out there .... Core Temp, SpeedFan, TAT, etc, makes very interesting reading if you've got the time :) also he did lap his Thermalright Heatsink which took 6 hours of elbow grease but ultimately it was worth it!

I lapped an evercool btx heatsink last night, my elbows now hurt. Machines surface, and it was miles out!!!! They put a splodge of copper in the middle, and although it looked perfectly flat, they had set th copper in too far. Must get massive gains for being lapped, as its soooo crappy normally. oops, sorry, bit off topic.

I'm still waiting for my G0 as well. Cancelling my blitz order elsewhere,a s they can't get them. May as well wait for x38 now!!!

It's strange Thermalright have such a good reputation for air cooling, their units consistently beat out the competition, yet the bases are far from flat, usually they're either convex or concave. I have a Tuniq Tower 120 and the base finish on that is pretty mediocre too, just too lazy to order a lapping kit for it at the moment.
