New quads coming out questions

These are ment to be cooler right? Because atm im pretty sure an overclocked Q6600 would run very hot under my Artic cooler 7, should the new ones be ok?

Also when are they actually coming out? January? Whats the expected prices?

Yes they will run cooler as they are 45nm chips.

But 3.6ghz on curent G0's quad is quite achieveable on good air.

Wait for the new 45nm's.

You could save a bit on the motherboard to.
Even cheap G33 based mbs can clock these new chips to pretty high levels.

Intel havn't confimed the delays yet have they?

They were delayed but no clear time was given but I dont think there due Jan.... perhaps not even Feb.

We will find out soon I guess considering its Jan 08

There are a few threads here about prices and delays. But yes, Feb/March time. The stock cooler will be enough for good clocks on these chips. Anything more will just be a bonus.
