Hi, i use a PC with a USB software defined radio, its not particularly heavy on resources, just requiring a stable data flow on either USB2 or 3. It works well on old duo core, but its then no good for multitasking.

I need as silent as poss midi or small base and be very nifty, recordings i make are hefty, need a backup drive ,and can be sometimes left on overnight in a bedroom

Budget up to about £800 hopefully with poss a monitor/wireless keyb/mouse/wifi etc as well
My main thoughts are below, if anyone can advise it will all work together etc, and any tweeks to get my best value for speed and bang for buck, and i presume overlockers can just build as my request or do i pick a base machine and amend as per requirements ?
Many thanks in advance, Andrew

Looks fine to me really, but given you are going to be using integrated graphics I just wonder if this might be a rare situation where intel is better value - an i5 10400 + h410 mobo would give you a stronger processor with more cores for the same price or less. The only caveat being this would limit CPU upgrade options in future.

For quieter operation would recommend an after market cpu cooler, maybe arctic freezer 34. May want to look at an IPS or VA monitor too for better colours.

Believe you can ask them to build it for you for ~£100

If the current box is quiet enough why not leave it doing its thing and buy a second PC for everything else? You can then not worry about the noisiness of the new PC. And you can RDP from the new to the old.

Thank you all for your comments, on the right lines i think, i will look further into the intel option in this case. Cheers

Shame zero RPM or fanless PSU are quiet expensive
