Hey ppl,

A friend of mine is looking to build a new rig, and needs some advice on components!

His budget is 700-730 quid...

He will be using the computer for mostly gaming and working with photoshop/dreamweaver

He would also like to overclock the system... (i5 4ghz, PII 955 3.80 if posible!

)

He already has a monitor and he works with 1920x1080 res

Do they have anything else to go in the new system already - keyb/mouse/dvdrw for example?

if he's using heavy use apps then maybe a quad core cpu would be better than dual core

actually scrub that, dreamweaver isn't really hardcore useage

I would go with a i5 setup, I would look at parts and post here but got a few things to do tonight, but I'm sure others can spec you a nice i5 or a amd rig.

Here is a very good AM3 build and future proof as well but you'll need 30 quid more

.The Phenom II 955 clocked to 3.7-3.8Ghz + the HD5850 will eat any game you wanna give it to chew.Also the PII should also do very good but I will be 2-3 secs slower than the i5/i7 at rendering.

WTF? No.
