Im going to make the move to X64 Windows 7

Currently have 4GB but with the move though about maybe increasing RAM

My CPU is an AMD Phenom II X2 Dual Core 555 Black Edition that unlocks to an X4 and rock solid stable @ 4.4Ghz this is cooled with EK Nickle and plexi supream HF

Mobo is a Asus Crosshair IV Formula and i've a full EK Nickle and plexi block fitted

I have though about adding in an EK-RAM Dominator if i was to use all 4 slots as to just 2.

Question is what RAM to get! Im going to keep the system for a while and let all the new AMD stuff come out then sometime next year upgrade to the latest platforms.

I'll be looking to order from OCUK with some other parts i'm wanting.

Please advise

As previously stated 4GB is the "standard" nowadays so if you can use the RAM then go for it or you can save the money. It's all about the cost involved if you can buy the RAM cheap enough then I would do it (well actually I did since I went from 6GB to 12GB, 6GB more for £60 = bargain!).

Stoner81.

Keep in mind that if you go to 4 modules, your memory clocks will likely drop due to the load on the memory controller. A 2 x 4GB kit is your best option in this case.

I'm getting some mushkin radioactive 3 x 2GB for my PC i think.. for £60. Use two and keep the third as a spare or sell it on :P.

Im usually at 1600hmz 9-9-9-24... but my rams decided to play up and im gunna have to RMA it xD.
