New ram issue

I just got new ram (Avexir Mpower red series) and the only way I could get it running was through slots 2 and and 4 although my motherboard recommends 1 and 3, also since I put in the new sticks the old pieces of RAM that I had (Corsair XMS3) wouldn't boot with my system at all, just infinite boot loop. I'm wondering why it won't work in the correct slots. I did clear the Cmos and the same issue continued to occur. I also tried each individual piece of ram in different slots and only the new sticks would work but only in the black slots which are 2 and 4.

Msi P67 GD65
MSI GTX 570
XFX 850W Modular Power Supply

2 and 4# slots are correct anyway for two sticks

1 and 3# are wrong, unless you populate all the slots 8gb or more memory

I'm just wondering, as my motherboard manual says differently.

Will this effect my performance as they aren't where the motherboard says they should be.

it could be printing error, ive seen that before

ive owned asus/asrock/gigabyte and they are always first slot from cpu socket empty for two sticks

so plug them into slots 2 and 4

They work fine in slots 2 and 4 but not at all in 1 and 3, where as my old sticks that were working before I replaced them won't work at all (they were in 1 and 3)

only thing to cause ram slot trouble is bent cpu socket pins, overtightened cooler

might help doing a cmos clear and see if they work again

It's working now, just starting working again randomly. I think it may have been that I just needed to wait for a while or something of the sorts.
