Hey guys quick question really. I'm wanting some more RAM for my computer and am just wondering if there is anything I should be wary of apart from the type, which his DDR.

Thanks, Stew

If it's DDR, you should be aware that it's going to cost you. Barely anyone needs it anymore so prices have risen a lot.

PC3200 is the speed type, C2 is the CAS latency (basically the cycle time of the RAM, lower is better), 400mhz is the actual speed, DIMM is Dual In-Line Memory Module (ie desktop RAM), and the last part is the model number.

You can probably use any mainstream DDR, but it would be best to buy some stuff that has similar specs to what you already have. Download and run CPU-Z and head over to the Memory tab, see what it says.

DRAM Frequency: 199.5 MHZ
FSB: DRAM: 1:1
CAS# Latency: 3.0 clocks
RAS# to CAS# Delay: 3 clocks
RAS# Precharge: 3 clocks
Cycle Time: 8 clocks

All of that means nowt to me, but does it generally mean I can go with any mainstream stuff?
