New ram not working

Bought form the MM section 2 256mb unit making 512mb for my girlfirends laptop

It's a Samsung P28 and the ram i got is

Siemens SDN03264A1B31MT-60
256MB - DDR - PC2700
105301-0311-SN 00363 MD SAP40002893

I've tried both sticks in ether slots, tried one in each slot yet it don't work, Laptop will reboot over and over again and offer safe mode, windows goes to the loading page then back again.

Refitted the std stick that i want to replace and it works fine....

Help please

Is there an option in the BIOS to alter the memory timings? You could be running the RAM at settings it dosent like.
