Hi all,
So I got myself 2 packs of this RAM yesterday:
YOUR BASKET
1 x TeamGroup Xtreem LV 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C10 2400MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (TXD38G2400HC10QDC01) £71.99
Total : £80.69 (includes shipping : £7.25).
I opened up one of the packs (cause I love feeling new hardware) and while taking out one of the sticks, half the heatspreader came off instead.
Now I wasn't really rough taking it out, and it seems like it wasn't stuck on properly at all. Really seemed like half a half a**ed job.
There wasn't any TIM on either part, just what seemed like silver tape-ish stuff on the heatspreader.
Now I had to leave for work, so I stuck them back together, pressing pretty firmly, and when I got back, I forgot which was the stick that had the problem.
I've tried to separate both sticks, and neither of em seems to want to split, hence why I thought that they just laid it very on loosely.
Now the RAM is for a build that I'm working on, got most of the bits, just need the case and a good ssd and all sorted.
Just need to know if you guys would recommend that I RMA the sticks, or stick with them, as they seem alright for now.
It's fast RAM, so I would think think that the cooling part would be extremely important.
Any suggestions?
