Hi,

I recently picked up some more RAM to go in my parents PC to speed it up a bit. Currently it has 2 x 512MB Samsung PC2700 cas 2.5 in it. I attempted to add 2 Sticks of "
256MB DDR PC2700 333MHz 184pin Extra Value Ram". After inserting them I booted up the PC and was hit by this message:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: Isapnp.sys"

I thought maybe the RAM was not fully pushed in so I gave it a firm push in and it was 100% in. Next time I booted up I got this message:
"Pci.sys Is Missing or Corrupt"
So I rebooted the PC again and this time it logged into windows, great I thought! I checked the RAM using dxdiag and it shows as 512MB still :(

So I removed both sticks one at a time to try and isolate the problem but the system would not pick up the RAM.
I tried booting with just the new sticks in but I got a continuous beep, which in my limited experience means no RAM found?

Its like the PC will not even recognize the fact its got RAM in it!

I am assuming that the RAM is corrupt and will need to be sent back?

Cheers

It definitely sounds like it's duff. I would just try resetting the CMOS just in case.
