Stone,
hi. I brought
OcUK 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-010-OK&tool=3
from the shop today i already have 2gb of this which is samsung made in korea i brought it last month from ocuk

the new stuff is rendition made in the US

i installed the ram and reset the cmos on my P5N-E sli
quickly checked the bios and it saw 4gb sweet :D
upon 1st boot it got in to windows all be it very slowly then blue screened at desktop

i then tried the new ram on its own and the system hangs at post (cant enter the bios) even after resetting the cmos

will take it back to the shop tomorow is there anything else i can try before hand or should i just leave it

also will the ram just get replaced or will i have to wait weeks for it to be tested? as i am desperate for 4GB :(

Your best bet is do the above in the BIOS and you might need to manualy setup the timmings.

ok im in the bios now

just posting on my laptop

have set the memory voltage to 2.178v thats the closest i can get to 2.1v its either that or 2.085v

now the NB the voltages i have for that are
1.208v
1.393v
1.563v
1.748v

which should i choose

also what do i set the timings to?

ok sorted :D thanks for your help guys

ram voltage to 1.2v raised NB voltage a little and Manually set timings to
5 5 5 18 now working fine

thanks again now how do i overclock my cpu. before i had it set to 15% overclock in AI tuning
