Would i notice a difference if i got another 16GB 2 8GB sticks on VR and simulations. I have a x570 aorus pro with cmk16GX4M2D3600C18 which are two 8 GB each on a 2080ti. Would buying 2 more 8GB help or buy newer different ram at 32GB. Thanks.

Is the one i would need to match the one i have now?.

WHen you play your VR game, is the app using more than 90% of the RAM?

It also depends on your system - Ryzen 5000 series did see a small but noticeable performance improvement with 4 sticks of RAM.

RAM is cheap at the moment but I don't think that an extra 2 sticks would do a lot for performance. If your FPS are dipping below 60 then sure, it might help to keep it closer to 70 or so but again, it depends on your system.

If you have a weak machine (dual core/midrange GPU) that is struggling with FPS then rather spend the money on a proper upgrade (6 core CPU/upper midrange GPU).

Moving from an Intel 7700K to a Ryzen 5600 CPU wouldn't be too expensive if you paired it with a cheap AM4 motherboard, for instance.

I have a Ryzen 3700 series. I have never looked at ram usage but most games are fine like Half Life Alyx type games but FS2020 both on Quest 2 and Pico4 isnt really playable. Just thought that bit more ram would help.

See I don't really know how much of an impact it'll have in the real world, probably none with VR games.

SAve up for a 5600 or a new GPU.

Go buy this second hand 5600

From what I can see FS2020 likes having more ram and while 16GB is ok, 32GB seems to make it run a bit smoother.

As for 2 versus 4 sticks, Realistically you'd notice no noticeable difference between 2x16 and 4x8 if all other ram timings were the same... benchmarks might be a small difference.

CPU and GPU might be a factor to consider though...
