Does anyone know whether the 150GB WD Raptor drives are being replaced anytime soon? These drives have been around for a couple of years now, and they seem due for a replacement now that regular 7200RPM drives are almost matching them in performance. Or maybe 10K RPM drives are unnecessary these days due to modern 7200RPM drives. I'm only asking because I hope to be building a new gaming PC around September, and wondered whether a new Raptor could make it into the specification. I know people think that these drives are horrendously overpriced, but if a new version offered a considerable performance advantage over 7200RPM drives then they may just be worth the outlay...
