hello all,
after about 6 weeks of not having a pc,
3 motherboards, 2psu's... and a lot of testing,
im selling my old bits and starting again,
got refunded on my faulty motherboards.
about to purchase all new stuff,
my idea is....
motherboard:
Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard
- on special at the mo, best board i think for me aswell.
cpu:
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "LGA775 Kentsfield" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail
- was going to wait for GO.. but never going to overclock so prob not going to worry about it.
memory:
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)
or....
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-8500 1066MHz SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel DDR2 (OCZ2N1066SR2GK - on special offer
im wondering if the OCZ will have any problems with the set up?
i do like ocz. but worried it wont boot without updating bios before i can get into windows... will it work straight away?
i do a lot of photoshop, rendering, games...
so im sure its a good enough upgrade for me, just not sure about which memory...
also, they got some specials on the 8800'S... 768mb think one of those would fit into my Thermaltake Window Tsunami Dream Aluminium VA3000BWA?
and which one... would be nice to have?
or should i go with the 2900's... or even...
just stick with my 512mb 1900xtx saphire?
