New Recycling Bins

Black for General
Blue for Recycling

Bonus is we get vouchers from blue bin so more stuff recycled the more vouchers we get :D

We now have yet another green box. However now pretty much everything's recyclable. :), however black wheelie bin is going to be replaced with something smaller :(

Can recycle
Glass
Metal
cardboard
Foil
Plastic rap
Plastic bottles
Plastic tubs
Aerosol cans

About the only thing we can't recycle is hard plastics like plant pots.

Bin for general waste
Bin for recyclable
Bin for garden waste
COLLECTION SERVICE for glass bottles, small plastic tub.
There are a few other collection services that operate less frequently too

We have
Black bin for non recyclable rubbish.
Green for garden waste
Orange for cardboard/paper/cans etc

Glass is meant to be taken to the tip, and I've got a jug with dead batteries in it for the tip as well.

So many different colours. Makes me wonder which one is correct.
Green Wheelie for garden waste / food / organic (huge)
Blue Wheelie for paper / cardboard (big)
Brown Wheelie for Plastic Btls / Cans / Glass (big)
Black "Wheelie" for general waste, this one is tiny, can just about fit 3 bags in it, is constantly overflowing, binmen won't take it away if the lid wont close, and there is constantly 3 - 4 bags of general waste extra that have built up since last tip trip to get rid...

We're very good at recycling so it's not like for a 3 person household we are anything but average, the tiny General waste bin they supply and collect fortnightly is woefully inadequate. /rantover :o

Our local council has just asked us to take delivery of a 5th and a 6th bin. One for food waste and a half size one that is supposed to be kept indoors for food waste then emptied into the main food waste one outside.

Errr........no. There was an "opt out" option to decline both bins. Which I took.

green wheelie = rubbish
brown wheelie = garden
red box = tins/cans and glass
blue box = cardboards
clear sack = plastic bottles
blue sack = papers.

6, am I the winner so far?

and a 7th of a compost bin which was a freebie a number of years a go. Wating till ECC announce food wast bin.

We have 6...

Black for General Waste
Brown for Garden Waste
Brown for Kitchen Waste (leftovers)
Green for Paper and Card
Blue for Tins and Plastic

Edit: Technically we have 7 cause you get a small caddy for the kitchen then a big one for outside.

Green wheelie bin for garden waste, and a small black container for cans/bottles. That's all we have. We still put bin bags out on a sunday night.

Bin for general waste (Collected every 2 weeks)
Green recycling box (Collected every 2 weeks)
Black food waste thingy (Collected every week)

We have 3 here in N.Ireland
Black - general rubbish
Blue - card/paper/plastic
Brown - garden waste

Council dependent, we only have 2

Black: everything
Blue: paper/card/glass/plastic

Garden waste we have to either take to the local tip or compost it ourselves.

Where I live (Burnley), we don't have quite that amount of bins to manage! :o

Normal wheelie bin - general rubbish
Large blue boxes - plastics and glass
White nylon(?) sacks - paper and card

General rubbish and the recycleable stuff gets collected on alternating weeks (general in week 1, recycling in week 2, general in week 3 etc)

EDIT: Oh and a green bin for garden waste. I forget what the schedule for collecting this is but its rare we put it out anyway. Gravel garden and potted plants innit :D

Heh,...I'm moving from all these recycling bins to an area that has next to no recycling...that'll be fun!
