We now have yet another green box. However now pretty much everything's recyclable. , however black wheelie bin is going to be replaced with something smaller
Bin for general waste
Bin for recyclable
Bin for garden waste
COLLECTION SERVICE for glass bottles, small plastic tub.
There are a few other collection services that operate less frequently too
So many different colours. Makes me wonder which one is correct.
Green Wheelie for garden waste / food / organic (huge)
Blue Wheelie for paper / cardboard (big)
Brown Wheelie for Plastic Btls / Cans / Glass (big)
Black "Wheelie" for general waste, this one is tiny, can just about fit 3 bags in it, is constantly overflowing, binmen won't take it away if the lid wont close, and there is constantly 3 - 4 bags of general waste extra that have built up since last tip trip to get rid...
We're very good at recycling so it's not like for a 3 person household we are anything but average, the tiny General waste bin they supply and collect fortnightly is woefully inadequate. /rantover
Our local council has just asked us to take delivery of a 5th and a 6th bin. One for food waste and a half size one that is supposed to be kept indoors for food waste then emptied into the main food waste one outside.
Errr........no. There was an "opt out" option to decline both bins. Which I took.
Where I live (Burnley), we don't have quite that amount of bins to manage!
Normal wheelie bin - general rubbish
Large blue boxes - plastics and glass
White nylon(?) sacks - paper and card
General rubbish and the recycleable stuff gets collected on alternating weeks (general in week 1, recycling in week 2, general in week 3 etc)
EDIT: Oh and a green bin for garden waste. I forget what the schedule for collecting this is but its rare we put it out anyway. Gravel garden and potted plants innit
