I just completed a CBT last Sunday and have got my first bike, a '99 GZ 125. I'm very happy with the bike except for one problem...

Its stinking out my garage and house. I have had it in the garage for 1 night and the whole downstairs of my house smells like a petrol station forecourt. Obviously the wife, who wasn't keen on me riding in the first place, is less then impressed and its left me wondering if this is normal.

I haven't started it up in the garage and I've been religiously turning off the fuel tap when I get off (I've already conked out while riding from forgetting to put it back on :p). I'm worried that there may be a problem with the bike.

Does anybody else have this problem? and if so what do you do to stop it?

Thanks guys, i hadn't noticed any obvious fuel leakage. I'll try and check the other things that you mentioned. Although after going out for about an hour today the smell seems to be better.

It's a 2 stroke. Probably spitting a little bit of unburnt petrol out when you start it in your garage. - But you don't start it up in your garage. Sorry. :(

I'm quite sure its a 4 stroke engine.
