Hi all, interested in any observations about this rig. All key parts listed on partpicker at the following link: https://uk.************.com/user/dannythemusicman/saved/#view=qdWdxr

- AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 4.7 GHz 8-Core Processor [New]
- Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Digital ARGB 88.89 CFM CPU Cooler [New]
- ASRock B850 Pro RS WiFi ATX AM5 Motherboard [New] / Seems to be a good balance
- Corsair Vengeance RGB 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory [New]
- Crucial T500 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
- MSI GAMING TRIO OC GeForce RTX 5080 16 GB Video Card
- Phanteks ECLIPSE G500A DRGB ATX Mid Tower Case
- Corsair RM850x (2021) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

New parts are marked above, so the other parts are carried over from an existing build. I do not plan on overclocking anything, so mainly plan on keepings things stock.

Any advice appreciated, in particular the RAM choice & cooler.

They're fine, I assume the RAM is EXPO?

For the record: you are overclocking the CPU's memory controller, but everybody does it, so eh.
Many thanks, just looked into EXPO - from what I can see the RAM doesn't support this, wasn't even aware of it tbf as not built new four almost five years now.

During the day its a general workhorse powering multiple monitors. Otherwise, the main use will be for gaming, 4k all the way.

If buying new I'd go for a good current gen ATX 3.1 PSU rather than an old 2021 model, especially if opting for the Nvidia 5080 + as it means you'll get a native 12vhpr connector as well as some other improvements.

Edit: Ah, I see it's from an old build! Worth keeping then as it's still a good PSU.

Yeh this would be next part for replacement. Possibly looking for a 1000+ PSU to give me a bit more headroom.
The PSU has been rock solid so just don’t feel it’s worth changing yet.

Get the Phantom Spirit 120 as it has a extra heatpipe over the Peerless Assassin 120 and cools a little better. It's only a couple of quid more expensive if you don't buy it from here.
